Some companies block streaming broadcasts. If the streaming player opens but you cannot connect at work, check with your network administrator at your workplace. If you always get "Error. Please try to re-connect" and you are not blocked by your company, it usually indicates a problem with your computer. First, try installing the latest version of Windows Media Player. It is a free download by clicking the Media Player logo above.
Buffering, dropouts, lost connections:
Buffering happens when your computer has a slower connection to our Listen Live computer. This, unfortunately, is part of the internet. Even people with Broadband connections will experience buffering. Our Listen Live partner is working directly with Microsoft to make buffering a thing of the past.
Many things can cause you to lose the stream. A slow computer, not enough memory or even running several programs at once can make your PC lose the connection. If you tend to hear a lot of hard drive activity when using your PC, that's usually a sign that you need more memory.
Windows Media Player 6.4 or higher is required. If you have Windows, you probably already have Windows Media Player. 1. Make sure your computer has speakers. If your computer has speakers, make sure they are turned on, are plugged into the wall (if required) and are plugged into your computer. The spot where you would plug your speakers into your computer is usually green and has a small picture of a megaphone.
2. If your computer has speakers and those speakers are plugged in, you might want to make sure you have what is called a soundcard. If you are trying to listen on your home computer, consult the book your computer came with. If you are trying to listen at work, contact the person who maintains your computer.
3. If you have done all the things above and are still having issues, please go to our contact page to e-mail our online department and we'll try and will assist you with any issues you might have. We want to to make sure that you are able to fully enjoy us on your computer!
